As Christians, we have a built-in feedback loop (the Holy Spirit) that lets us know when we’re doing things right or wrong. My friend Chuck likes to say that God takes his fingers and pokes them into your side when you’re not doing what you’re supposed to. He never relents with this poking, “and he has sharp fingers!” Chuck says. Is God prodding your conscience about anything right now? You can try to ignore it, but it won’t go away if it’s truly a problem; it’s best to gather your strength and face it head-on. Once you do, the prodding will stop, and you will be comforted by this same power.
