God doesn’t care about what we say; he cares about what is in our hearts. He hates hypocrisy — when our hearts don’t match our words and actions, as with the Pharisees. We must test ourselves regularly to see who or what we have crowned in our hearts. Do we run with more enthusiasm to our lusts than to God? Simply saying the right words and doing good deeds is not enough if we aren’t sincere and Christ isn’t our Lord.
