O Christians, give not place to Satan, no, not an inch, in his first motions. He that is a beggar and a modest one without doors, will command the house if let in. Give Satan an inch, and he’ll take a mile. Never compromise with him. The second he starts whispering in your ear, you need to go on the offensive. Use whatever practical means you have: take a walk, turn to the scriptures as Jesus did when tempted by Satan, pray, and call on God for aid, but don’t give him that first inch. My Grandma once told me her strategy: “I get hateful with him! I say, ‘Go on, Satan, git!’”
See him for the pest and menace he is and treat him with absolute contempt.
