Christianity differs from many other religions because we don’t see our souls and bodies as totally separable. Jesus needed to come to earth in the flesh, and the Bible tells us that after we die, we will ultimately be reunited with our bodies. Our bodies are important and significantly affect our mental and spiritual health. In light of this, consider the position of your body during prayer. I’ve found that getting down on my knees beside my bed puts my mind in a better state to pray. You may have another posture that works well for you. But the point is that your body’s position can change your prayer life. If you’re struggling, ensure your body is poised to honor God and be intentional and focused when you pray.
